I’m getting a little weirded out by the fact that southeastern classes start tomorrow. I really miss those people and I’m so very far from all of them right now. However, at the same time I feel so free and alive here too.
I just don’t know where I’m going to end up next. I so wish I knew.
It was the perfect rainy day for afternoon tea and a trip to the Victoria and Albert museum.
High tea was absolutely delicious and I enjoyed all of those sweets… and clotted cream. yummiii.
Kelsey and I headed out to soho to see the nightlife there later that night; it was a lot of fun! Lots of places to explore and people to meet.

Metronomy - On Dancefloors
I love this song so much.
Kelsey and I started the day with a train ride into waterloo station where we got off at the eye. Of course, it was a whopping 18 pounds to ride so we quickly passed that opportunity up! Then we just hung around Westminster for a little while and “ooh and ahhed” at the beautiful architecture of the city. I think I could stare at the same building for a half hour and still be amazed…
We then trekked over to Trafalgar square (after getting a delicious berry milkshake at md’s might I add) where we sat at the monument for a bit and eventually meandered into the National Gallery. This museum houses quite a bit of Van Gogh pieces and the Virgin on the Rocks by Da Vinci; there is also the Arnolfini Wedding Portrait by Jan Van Eyck. (I mean, there is so much more but those are just my favorites)
Our last stop was Covent Gardens which was definitely the highlight of the day.Yeah, there were the cute shops and pubs… but lo and behold, we started to hear the sound of beautiful strings close by! There was this group that did renditions of classics by Bach, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, and everything in between with a cello, a couple of violins, and rehearsed dance moves to complete the number. They were so much fun! People started to take pictures with them as they were playing so we decided that it was necessary to do the same.
We headed back to the tube in the rain (BIG SURPRISE) and awaited the adventures of tomorrow!
Cheers!
It feels so good to be back here again. London has such a distinct vibe and you immediately become immersed into the culture- whether that be the people, the fashion, the buildings, the rain, the tube, the accents… oh! I just love every minute of it.
I can’t believe I’ve almost been here a week already on Monday! We’re staying in Putney with my “auntie” Margo and “uncle” Zippy before their move to Russia in late Sept. I love this little city because it is very close to the tube and trains as well as grocery stores, countless pubs and shops along the way on high street, which was a lot different than their other place in Weybridge.
Luckily, I didn’t suffer from any jet-lag when we first arrived (I can’t say the same for Kelsey though!). After touring Putney a little bit and taking Bella to the park, we met uncle Zippy for some delicious thai dinner. Of course we retired early and slept like little babies.
Stay tuned for the week’s adventures… coming up next! hah.
